Built between 1954 and 1956 by a Belgium colonial, the Muhabura Hotel is situated just outside of Musanze (previously known as Ruhengeri) and was frequented often by Diane Fossey when she came down from her gorilla camp as a place to take a bath and enjoy a home-cooked meal. Accommodation is whimsically decorated and is clean and comfortable. Their restaurant is well known in town for their grills and their local dishes such as Zingalo, Brochettes or Veloute de Champignons. There is a social terrace where you can enjoy viewing the daily Musanze life or have a bite to eat in the shade of the balcony or an umbrella.
